Dans d'autres formes, c'est plutôt l'élément nerveux spasmodique qui prédomine, et la coqueluche est, sous ce rapport, une maladie bien instructive, en ce sens que la cause épidémique, l'élément spasmodique et le catarrhe, y sont intimement réunis, tandis que les phénomènes franchement inflammatoires y sont rares, exceptionnels, et existent plutôt comme complication ; aussi a-t-on, %] juste titre, rapproché la coqueluche des maladies éruptives. On comprendra aisément, d'après ces courtes remarques, que l'anatomie pathologique seule ne suffit point pour caractériser le catarrhe. Des prédispositions individuelles, héréditaires même, des influences miasmatiques et autres, prouvent qu'il y a là une maladie beaucoup plus complexe qu'une simple série une véritable diathèse catarrhale dont l'existence, à notre avis, ne saura1têtre niée par le praticien.
