Manuscripts submitted for publication should be double-spaced with endnotes. Authors are encouraged to submit both a paper and electronic version of the manuscript. Today, under state sponsorship, the Society fulfills its obligations by publishing the Utah Historical Quarterly and other historical materials; collecting historic Utah artifacts; locating, documenting, and preserving historic and prehistoric buildings and sites; and maintaining a specialized research library. Donations and gifts to the Society’s programs, museum, or its library are encouraged, for only through such means can it live up to its responsibility of preserving the record of Utah’s past. The activity that is the subject of this journal has been financed in part with Federal funds from the National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior, and administered by the State Historic Preservation Office of Utah. The contents and opinions do not necessarily reflect the views or policies of the Department of the Interior or the Utah State Historic Preservation Office, nor does the mention of trade names or commercial products constitute endorsement or recommendation by the Department of the Interior or the Utah State Historic Preservation Office.
