' ;; One-story hall and parlor house, stone with plaster. Originally the house was only the two south rooms. In 1949 the back "T" section of the house was added. Christensen's wife "Trena" was a well known nurse and midwife in the community and served an important role in "Little Denmark" in the early 19th century settlement. Jens was nicknamed "Jim Riley" and played the violin in the Danish Choir and also acted as its director. The Christensen T s had a deep well on their lot and a windmill, still visible, operated the pump on the well. |
