The type is characterized by a central room flanked by two smaller (pair) rooms. The house was originally stone. One chimney has been removed and the house is extensively remodeled inside. Roger Allred plastered the house several years ago. The house plan has direct parallels in Denmark and Sweden, Hans J, Hansen was born in 1818 on the Isle of H0n, Denmark, Converted to Mormonism, Hansen moved his family to Utah in 1959 and settled in Spring City. The first Hansen home was a dugout, followed by a log cabin, and finally in the early 1870's the present : house was constructed. Hans Jorgan Hansen was noted in Spring City for his fine flower gardens—having received his training in the royal gardens of the King of Denmark. |
