Its construction originally appears to have deviated from the standard barn type, though a subsequent frame alteration now allows the barn to appear like most in the town. The barn appears to have been a single log crib, with small doors on the east and a loft for hay storage. The stabling was probably done on the ground floor underneath the loft.
