Front door opens onto a boxed stairway with doors leading into two flanking rooms of equal size. Shingling in gables, wooden window heads. A garage has been added to the rear. The internal partition and staircase which effectively block the entrance into "hall" part of the original house were added in the 1940 *s. Fired brick houses do not appear in great numbers until the later 1880' s when, the brickyard was opened on the Chester road. The house is in excellent condition and contributes to the historical chara cter of the town. 1870 deed to Jens C. Anderson. Anderson holds the lot inot the twentiethcentury and undoubtedly was responsible for the building of this attractive home. (See # SP-17-155) for more information on Anderson. |
