A gabled addition was added to the south end of the house which changed the older house into a more contemporary pattern book influenced style, a gable facade "T". The house has picture window additions and a south porch addition. Builders were increasingly influenced in their building decisions by popular building books and -manuals. Christian Nielsen was the original owner. After Christian's death, Julia Niel sen received title to the house and lived there until Dan Sterner bought the house in the 1950 r s. The gable addition appears to have been accomplished after 1903, when Julia Nielsen acquired the house. |
