James Allred, the patriarch of Spring City, first settled on this lot as the town's first settler and received the deed in 1870. James Allred's original house once stood just to the south of this structure. Edward F. Allred, a grandson of James Allred and son of James T.S. Allred, later acquired this lot and built the rock house which is presently found here! Edward ivbought the lot in 1888 for $125 and probably built the house soon after. |
