The house appears to be a one-arid-a-half story rectangle cabin with inside partition. Stove flue chimneys are located on the gables. A frame one room square cabin has been moved in and connected to the main house on the east by a frame passageway. This frame house is also a three-opening facade. Its plan is thoroughly traditional and is particularly remini scent of the smaller homes built at Nauvoo. While disguised at the present, this small house contributes in an important way to the historic character of the town. The 1870 deed goes to Fredrick Olsen, 1889 to James Petersen for $425.? Olsen built the house in the early 1870's. Peter Sorensen married one ofthe Olsen daughters. Frederick lived in the little house on E 'ST. when wife died. |
