Forall which caufes it fe emeth that no c of thefe names agrec with this plant,but only ? the name Buphthalmum, with whofe defcription which is extant in Dsofcorides this plant doth moft aptly agree. Wetake it tobetheright Oxe eie ; for Oxe eie bringeth forth flenderfoft ftatks, and hath leaues ofthelikeneffe or fimilitudeof Fennell leaues: the Houreis yellow, biggct than that of Cammomil!,cuen fuch anoneis this prefent plant,which doth fo exquifitly expreffe thatform orlikenefle of Fennell leaues both in flenderneffe and manifold iaggedneff of theleaues,asnootherlittle leafed herb can do better; {o that without all doubt this plant feemethtobe the trueand right Oxe eie. Oxeeie is called Cachla, orrather Calthasbut Caltha is Calendula,or Marigoldsthich we faid that our Oxeeie in floure did neereft reprefent. The leaues of Chryfanthemumarefaid to be diuided and cut into manyfine iags :and the leaues of Buphthalmumtobeliketheleaues of Fennell : forall things that befinely iagged and cut into manyparts haue not the likeneffeof the leaues of Fennell.
