Uebng ^ muss ich hier schliesslich noch bemerken, dass in Townsends Reisebeschreibung n _ dem Columbia (pag. 94.) in sehr übertriebenen Ausdrücken von den Blackfoot-Ind»an geredet wird, weil diese Nachrichten von den Trappern und Pelzjägern herstammen, * _ ehe gewöhnlich einen gewaltigen Respect vor diesen Indianern, ihren ärgsten tein haben. Was Townsend übrigens von dem Unrecht dieser Pelzjäger gegen diese In(Jt sagt, ist sehr gegründet. |
