Corollae albae. Iuvolucri foliola supei oblongo lonceolata, nervoso striata. Antherae inclusae pallidae, in syngenesicae sed solito facilius separabiles multis etiam in tubuin hiuc aut in binas partes divisum coucretae. Styli rami crassi, obtusi, papuloso-aspei Pappus plumosus albus basi flavescens. Variat foliis caulinis modo magis modo minus serratis, quandoque et S integerrimis. Senecio ceratophyllus N. ab E. tipar1 S. foliisoblongis, iuferioribus lyrato-pinnatipartitis siiperioribus petiolatis cauleque lanuginosis, laciniis acuminatis extrorsum inciso-denia deutibus angustis, petiolis auriculatis amplexicaulibus, floribus umbellatis, VG culis elongatis nudis. Am obern Missouri, den 13. Juni. *» Sehr nahe verwandt mit Senecio Balsamitae, aber hinlänglich verschieden, ^ ich mich durch Exemplare überzeugte, die ich durch Herrn Gray aus ^*e York erhielt. Die Pflanze vom Missouri ist weit grösser, 1 72-# Fuss hoc ganz mit lockeren Flaumhärchen bekleidet. Die untersten Blätter sind ni ganz, sondern leyerförmig, nach unten zu bis auf die Mittelrippe gefiedert, oblongem Endstück; die Lacinien und das Endstück haben lange, schmale, spitze Zähne. Die mittleren Blätter sind ebenso gebildet, doch ist das &ü stück schmäler, und zeigt den Uebergang in die oberen ganz fiedrich-2 schnittenen Blätter. Die Lacinien dieser obern Blätter sind fast lanzettro und haben nach Aussen 2-3 Zähne, nach Innen nur einen oder gar fee Zahn. Der Blattstieltheil ist lang und das geschlitzte stengelumfassende U |
