I have not seen any other specimens of this insect, since I described it from a pair obtained by Wallace. STIGMATIUM. (The species of Stigmatium are exceedingly obscure and will need further revision.) STIGMATIUM CICINDELOIDES. Stigmatium cicindeloides, Gray in Griffith's Anim. Kingd. p. 376, t. 43. f. 2 ; Spin. Mon. i.' p. 176, t. 13. f. 4. The identification of these insufficiently described species must necessarily be problematical. There is little doubt, however, that the insect figured by Spinola is the species of which I have seen many specimens from Malacca, Java, and the neighbouring islands. The blue or green tint on the thorax shown by Spinola is not constant, but is characteristic of the species when it occurs. Perak. STIGMATIUM RUFIVENTRE. Stigmatium rufiventre, White, Cat. of Cleridae in Brit. Mus. p. 54 (1849) ; Westw. Proc. Zool. Soc. 1852, p. 45, t. 26. f. 5 (" Clerus ruflventris " ). The general colour of this insect is deep black ; the middle of tbe body beneath is vaguely brownish red; the front of the head, basal half of the antenna?, the reflexed margin of the base of the thorax, the base of the elytra (the shoulders more widely), the scutellum, the front tarsi, the tips of the middle and posterior tarsi, and the trochanters are rusty red.
