This is one of the commonest of the Cercopitheci in captivity. W e have always examples of it living in the Gardens. The black line which passes above the ears and borders the crown behind serves to distinguish this species from all its allies. The sharply defined white of the lowTer surface of the tail is another peculiar character of C. petaurista. 2. CERCOPITHECUS BUETTIKOFERI. Cercopithecus buttikoferi, Jentink, Notes Leyd. Mus. viii.
