Show 538 MESSRS. H. H. DEUCE ANB G. T. BETHUNE-BAKER ON [June 20, The Butterflies of this genus are entirely,-with the exception of T. schaeffera, which occurs in the Oriental region,-confined to the Indo-Australian region, and the genus is apparently most highly developed in N e w Guinea and the adjacent islands and the northern parts of Queensland, and is inclined to diminish both in size and in brilliancy more towards the Western limits of its range than towards the Eastern. The danis and wallacei groups are found only in what may be called the headquarters, the schaeffera group occurring on the Eastern and Western limits only; the taygetus group occupies the whole range of islands and N . Australia; whilst the cyanea group, again, is best represented at headquarters.
