Show 46 The club's achievement this year has taken place through each individual's work. Every woman has done her part in fllaking the club excel and grow. Reed This year as President of the Wasatch Business and Professional Women's interesting and cha lIenging one for me. Club has been I knew very little about BPW when I assumed this office as I had on Jy been a member less than two years. However, my experience has been both rewarding and educational, and I am grate'ful for the opportunity of servlnq The combined efforts of all officers and members have made it a for all. happy year , In August we spent a most enjoyable afternoon at Jordan Park with our sister club from Tooele This year there was no damaging wind storm and our dinner was spread and eaten with re lish .. • Our Personal Development meeting was held September 7. Fern Nichols, chairman, introduced our guest speaker, Mrs. Clair Noa II. Mrs. Noa II was assisted by her husband, Dr. Noa II They spoke on the subject "Historical Persona llfies ", In closing, Mrs. Noall said, II "We live according to the image with which we have been brought up. 0 At our October meeting, World Affairs chairman Alice Meacham gave,';an academic discussion on the various reasons for our troups being in Vietnam. November 2 meeting Civic Participation chairman, Isla Simms, asked Mrs. Suzanna Mae Grua to to Ik to us on the problems we are facing with air pollution. This was followed by a genera I discuss ion of the subject - , In December a most outstanding Christmas party was held at the home of Fellowship Chairman Mrs Ida Latham. An interesting Christmas supper menu was served to fourteen members. A gift of r,5.00 was voted to be given and sent to KSL project "Quarters for Christmas II .. " Nellie Jack, our Legislation Chairman, introduced our speaker for the January meeting, Miss Mary Co Ibath, assistant Attorney-Genera I for the State of Utah and former Young Career Wor.1On from the Utah BPW Clubs. Miss Co lboth gave us a splendid report on the working of new laws for women. A world trove ler I Miss Va Loy Hanney, was our speaker at our M{lC'h meeting. Hanney gave an impressive resume of her excursion to the Holy Land. In April Isla Sims described her recent tour mode to the Fiii Austra llo Miss Islands, Tahiti, and , Our annua I find-raising dinner was he ld in May at the home of Suzanna Mae Grua. After a delicious turkey dinner, conservation chairman Wando Fox introduced our speaker for the evening, Mr. David Joyner, who gave an i llustrcted lecture of the Bird Refuge at Farmington Bay.
