Show 3 Programing is vital to any club or, federation,,d we have been in good hands this year. With the new BPVv' ACTION IV\ANUALand the National Business Woman as resource material, no club was without adequate assistance in this all-important field. Jean's enthusiasm and good ideas presented at Fa II Board Meeting and Fa II District Conferences added further incentive for good programing. Inclued in this area was the Criteria Club Pr09fOm, with the added feature of aiming for the Golden Circle in 1969. Jean .cnd her able cohorts, Dorothy, Edna, and Aadeline I presented a most interesting program at Winter Board Meetng.. They will again challenge you at convention to establish firm, well-planned, meaningful programs. , At the National Board Meeting in September, the Notional Membership Golf Toumament \vas launched, our State being in Flight 6 with Viola Wolfe as our Pro. We were challenged to attain a 10% increase in membership as well as in number of clubs. In this undertaking we must report less success than we had hoped for ,and we have remained in [ust about the midd Ie spot in our National Flight throughout the year However, with a current membership of I not discouraged I and by the end of the fisca I year we cou ld eosi Iy equa I last year's membership at least. Our many new members are most walcome , but we do regret the, number of oldmembers who did not renew their memberships this year. • we are Hope for new clubs has been h iSh throughout the year, but somehow they iust haven't materialized. At the moment, there are strong prospects in Morgan, Delta, Kanab, Wendover and an additiona I club in Logan. Early in the new year we expect to see the fruits of the groundwork that has been laid this year. I ' _ ' One sad 'note to report is that the St. George Club did not feel they could survive another year. The ZJon Club, which was bit a (.J over organized year ago with some of the St. George members 'from the eastern part of the area, is thriving, however. Our newest club, Bonneville, has broken all kinds of membership records, and we are delighted with their I progress. Di ligent efforts were made by a sma II - a II too sma II _- group of women to promote the Legislative Platform adopted at the state convention last !\k:Jy, We owe a spec iq I expression of thanks to' Bessie Anderson forher work in this field and to. Nellie Jack and Della loveredge our members who serve "on the' 'fH II". Your must, admit her vast lack of knowledge president regarding legislative matters but is thoroughly convinced that we must make strides in educating our members and convincing them to support .cnd work for the legislation considered important to us as women and' as, citizens. ;' ,.' The evidence of their labors, however, appeared in\t·he Spring issue of The Utah Business Woman, and you will be even of them before the convention is over. The committee clso carefully reviewed and proposed revision of the more aware standing rules, The staff of Tf-e Utah Business Woman has been another busy group. It has been my pleasure to work closely with them and be more a parl of the production of the magazines than state presidents usually are. We trust you have enjoyed and benefited by the results. Welre still hoping for a post-convention issue--the bank account alone will determine the feasibility of this undertaking.
