Show 23 Membenh lp Chpirman. The prqgram wes under the direction of Membership Chaifl1'lC!2n Elva Pierson. The maiority of th prospective members signed up for membership and [oined the Club. A community project was initiated at this meeting A piano was donated to the Club, and this piano was presented to the city to be plOced in the Bowery at the park. A bronze plaque will be placed on the piano to show the Club nome. In observance of National Business Women'$ WeekI eight new members \\ere installed in October. These new members represented some new fields of employment which eecompllshed a promised purpose this year, Many of our members attended the program of the Bonneville Club National Business Women's Week observance, We congratulate the Bonneville Club for this fine program, The November meeting was one of our special programs" Jean Clements, Public RelatiQOS Representative of the Telephone Company presented a program "Jewels for Q Queen". This was a ,very fascinating presentation of the history of famous gemsl using replicas of the gems to show the cut and co lor of each [ewe I. December was a snowy month that created all kinds of problems, among them the postponement of our Christmas party •. However, the de lay of the party proved to be em qdvantage. We had our party in January, and it was doubly enjoyable because there was not the hurried ativity that keeps December hectic. The February program was the World Affairs observance, Mary Simmons, World Affairs Chairman, arranged a program that took us out of our wintry world into the world of sunny Speln , Grace Fox and her assistant, Reverand Fox, presented slides and narrative about their trip to Spain, Asa team, these travelers really have some very fine pictures and experiences to relate, and the members enjoyed this program very much. Groce also re lated the state of affairs in that country today, which gave us a picture of the living conditions there today. Three new members were insta lied at th is meeting The N\qh meeting wos the Legislative Program conducted by chairman Carolyn Taufemer. Mrs, Elizabeth Vance, Investigator for the Office for Anti-Discrimination in Utah, was the speaker of the evening, The members learned many facts that are of great value to us, including the Social Security payment problems which should be .modlfied Mrs. VQnce presented her to Ik in an informa I manner which enabled members to question about the subject as the talk progressed, This was a very refreshing change of pace, and the members enjoyed this change. Two new members signed up for membership at this , meeting. The Apri t meeting was the Young Career Woman program under the chairmanship of Ann ..hhnson. This project was in charge of Joyce Harmon, who was assisted by Margo Flint and Ann Johnson. Their campaign in this search for interested Young Career ) Women was well publicized and quite productive, Outside ivdges made the choice of the winner.
