Anderson attended There, your Nationa I Legis lative Platform was prepared and later presented to the convention body for adoption. 0 Prior to this, a briefing session was held at our 1967 State Convention at which your club legislation chairman attended. Here, our State legislative Platform was drafted and presented to the convention body for adoption. With the action and po llcy items of both platforms, you are familiar .. Stage I was reached at the Fa II State Boord Meeting with the Legis lative Workshops. The fue I from Stage I powered us to Stage II, the State Winter Board Meeting. A very powerful Booster Rocket was ignited at the Nationa I legislative Conference held at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D. C., February 28 to March 1, 1968. This was attended by First Vice President De lone, State Legislation Chairman Bessie, and myse If. The conference was beautifully planned by the National legislative'Committee, the Notional Officers, and Staff. It opened on Wednesday night with a rsleeting at which the Honorable .WHlianl V Rothm/Congressmon from Delaware, gave suggestions on how we can be more eff(vJive in pursuing our legislative aims. It was a rea I privi lege and pleasure to have our Senior Senator I the Honorable Wallace F. Bennett, and the Honorable Frank Moss [oin with I Hi II us, the other Federation members I and the ir Congressmen at a buffet breakfast on Capito an of in extended the on we were the day, appointment courtesy Thursday morning Later with each of our four Congressmen Senators Bennett and iVoss and Representatives Burton and lloyd. This was followed by a panel discussion on the Equal Rights Amendment and Alternative Action, a report on Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, a Sitoaflon Report, and a banquet speaker, Mr, Clark Mo lIenhoff, Washington correspondent. All were most informative and certainly inspired everyone who at';'3nded to greater legislative action and interest. |
