INTERNATIONAL WEEK PROJEJT The National Association of Business and Professional Women of Zambia has suggested to the newl,y established University of Zambia that it may be 'possible to get other National Federations, State Federations and even individual B.P.W. Clubs throughout many countries of the world to assist with the formation of AP. INTERNATIONAL GARDEN and this suggestion has been enthusiastically received. therfore, asking you to join in this projec t by sending to us of your typical shrubs, climbers or perennial plants. The University of Zambia is situated in our capital, Lusaka, which is sea level and 4,250 enjoys a sub-tropical climate with summer rainfall. Most temperate, sub-tropical and tropical plants can be grown here even if some require special care. The Horticultural Officer has told us that he will be most interested in trying whatever is native to other parts of the world but he does not want herbaceous varieties which would die down after flowering as it is a permanent garden which is to be established. Nor do we ask for bulbs or tubers as such would corne under special import regulations but we have ascertain feet above ed that there vall be no import difficulties in the case of seeds. It is intended to ask Lady Littlewood, the International President, to presentation of these seeds to the University during her visit to Zambia in mid-April 1968. make the Will all B.P.W.Clubs and Federations who are interested in helping us establish a truly International Garden, please return the attached duly completed when forwarding seeds which should be addressed The National President P.
