In an official proclamation, the President of the United States set aside the first such week on the nation's calendar In April 1928. Its aMounced purpose was to dramatize the contribution of women to the business and professional life of the country. The purpose of NATIONAL BUSINESS WOMEN'S WEEK IS twofold: (1) To publicize achievements of business and professional women everywhere. (2) To publicize the ebjectlves and programs of our NATIONAL FE o ERA liON OF BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL WOMEN'S CLUBS, I These are: To Elevate Standards, • Premote Interests, Develop Cooperation, and Extend Opportunities throug!1 Education. By calling the attention of fellow citizens to the contributions women are making in today's world, clubs are educating the public from coast to coast, demonstrating the standards women strive for, advancing the interests of women, and opening doors to COfMIun i ty-w i de coope rat!_on • The twenty-eight clubs ich comprise the UTAH FEDERATION OF BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL WOMEN'S CLU8S are put working women into the spotlight of ioining in this once-a-year opportunity to friendly community interest and support. |
