Show 24 Our Club has also voted to donate $25 toward a scholarship to a worthy student to the college of her choice in honor of our principal Mel ington who is retiring this year after 17 years as principa I of Beaver High School. We are looking forward to our graduation tea in iV'Vly where the graduates of Beaver and their mothers are honored by the BPW Club. This is an outstanding affair School High and one that is long remembered by the graduates and a II those who attend • We fee'l that we have an outstanding club and are very proud of the things we have accomplished this year and in the past. We l!.re sure that with the enthusiasm of our members we have none but a bright future to look forward to. Kay Sta,k- BONNEVILLE As the Bonnevi lie Business and Professiona I Women's Club celebrates its first birthday, looking we are very pleased with the plans, progress, and results we have accomplished. so bad now, and we feel we have accomplished not do seem the nearly "growing pains" back, much in that short time. We began our year with an insta I lotion ceremony conducted by Joyce Frisby, state first vice past president. Officers installed were Kay Stark, president; Mildred Carrigan, Sara Borseth, president; Isabel Thatcher, second vice president; Phyllis Melling, secretary; treasurer; and Mary Ann Davies, corresponding secretary. We soon had committees organized;goals planned, and were on our way. For our Civic Participation programs, we became better informed about our community by hearing from a panel of homemaking teachers, two of whom were our own members They told about local projects such as head-start and early admissions school for four-year o lds, work with the underprivi leged, and summer, home-visit, teaching a high school student programs in homemaking. An interesting report was also given by a dealing with her experiences in two-week leadership training workshop. 0 Foreign exchange students from Japan and Denmark (through the American Field Service Program) were fascinating as they talked about school and customs in their respective countries as compared to ours for our World Affairs meeting. Clair Folkman, a local politician and former school board president, informed of us "legislative" policies and practices. The Persona I DeveJopment meeting proved most intriguing. A Hypnotechnician told us how to improve ourselves through self-hypnosis (talking yourself into things)pnd Deanna Cruser, our newest member, volunteered for a hypnotizing demonstration. Our Club has grown from 10 to 29 members this year, and we have high hopes of four even more by convention time. We now have three Go ld Card members (possibly took We Tournament. Golf the in sheeld soon) and have worked hard trying to stay BPW advantage of initiation ceremonies to orient ourselves on State and National background. Women's Week. iV\rs.
