Show 33 March was fun time, "How's Your Plan for Progress Looking. II Pot luck dinner for District officer,and presidents from other clubs in our area were guests along with and two new members. It was a memorable evening! Our our "Career Girl party committee entertained us by ha_ving a most delightful musical and dance program from the Federated Music Club of Springville. II Apri I will be conducted by the Nomination Committee and is entitled "Faith in Our Organization. to make II this possible. Elections will be held as our club has amended the bylaws Let's Take Inventory Uby our Membersh ip Committee. We have stabi I ized our membersh ip. We now have 54 fine members and our first Gold Card winner, Mima Rasband. We have not reached our flight number yet but are coming close. We plan to be well represented at the State Convention. May wi II be II In June the executive committee is in charge of our installation of new officers entitled "New Changes Ahead Installation of New Officers. II - I feel proud and grateful for my membership in the Provo BPW Club and grateful the District, State, and National officers for their support. Should the State membership choose to have me serve in a state capacity, I shall do my best to continue the BPW "Plcn for Progress." to ROOSEVELT Ruth Allen The Roosevelt BPW Club started the year with two very successful summer activities in coordination with the Uintah Basin Industrial Convention. A first prize float in the annual parade and a highly complimented fashion show: Each month we have held a dinner meeting,and very interesting programs have been given under committee chairmen on Civic Participation, World Affairs, and Persona I Deve lopment • This year our club has had a representative attend all Roosevelt Chamber of Commerce meetings. The purpose is to keep our members fully conscious and informed of all community happenings which enables us to coerdincte and support all community services. At this time a committee has been formed, and plans are being made to encourage tourist trade during the summer months. One of the highlights of our fall activities was the very successful series of II II discussions held on long-range Goa Is for Utah. Under direction and coordination of the University of Utah's Division of Continuing Education and the Utah Legislative Counci I, our group discussed and reported on such issues as Human Rights, Transporta tion, Social Services, Economic Development, Education, etc. We participated in the Community Christmas Week by making a monetary contributior the Christmas fund of $10.00 and by sacking 1,500 sacks of candy. We also held our traditional holiday party and exchanged the gifts. to . Late th is winter, jointly with the Vernal Club, we .sponsored a Youthpower- USA Conference. High school students from Duchesne, Uintah, and Dagget Counties |
