There is no end to the numberof programs that we may work with, and the enthusiasm of our new officers and the club members should produce many worthwhile accomplishments. CACHE VALLEY Lorro i ne Porter ' It became the purpose and aim of a small group of women to fully organize and implement programs in accordance with the National Fedoration of BP'N Clubs. A number of meetings were held beginning in September 1967 at which time interested, ?ligible women were invited to attend. By November the proposed Club had a' group of interested and energetic women really interested in forming the new Club women who were not afraid of having to do extra work in the Une of duty.', ' ' On November 7, at an organization1 meeting, the following officers were elected: President - Lorraine Porter Secretory - Anne Carter Treasurer - linda Hill It was agreed that a vice-president would be elected when more new members were added. THE CACHE On November 13 the group aga,in met and voted on a name for the Club VA LLEY and Sonia Mi lIer was elected vice-president. At this meeting the proposed bylaws were read Grid approved. The president appointed the following members to be Committee Chairmen: - . - .. Pot Bah ler Personal Development World Affairs Eunice Cronin Sa Ily Mathews Finance - , Annette Smith Donna Bodrero 'Public Re lations - Membership - - - On December 7, the new club had a Christmls banquet in the Wa Inut Room of the Student Union. Thirty-five members and guests were present. A regular meeHng date of the first Monday of each month was voted on. Specia I guests were De lone Petersen and letha Spencer. A singing group from' USU Entertainmen.t Bureau and' one of Sonia Mi Iler's dancing students presented the program. \ On January 15 the club met and copies of-the bylaws, membership lis.ts,' committee assignments and other infonnation were distributed to members. It was announced that our Inttollation Banquet would be on February 5. After business, a film rented from the Visua I Aids Dept , USU I entitled "Friends at My Door" was shown under the direction of the World Affairs Committee ' , • February 5, 1968, we rece ived our Charter from 'State President Jean Fox in an impressive candle ceremony. Several state officers were present in addition to Miss Fox. They were DeLone Petersen, Helen Dahle, Mable O'Brien, Letha Spencer, and past state president Edith Shaw. Several members of the Logan BPW Club were also present, and a gavel was given the new club by the Logan Club. One of our ta lented members, Joy .bcobsen, played several piano selections. I,·I II 11 |
