Show 31 in the sale of tickets for the North Central and Central Districts' money-making proioct for the benefit of the 1967 Youthpower Confersnce , We sold 68 tickets, and five members of our club will assist at the Vottthpower Conferen to held of Utah. April 8 at the University As president of the Ensign Club, 10m proud of our members who have donated many hours to community service and other worthwhile projects and organizations. Iv\augha_n A sunrise breakfast in June was the take-off point for the Professional Women's Club 1966-67 program year. togon Business and We were then stimulated by hearing from our Girls' State and Utah Career Girl representatives at a dinner meeting. The logan Club participated in an outstanding Northern District Youthpower-USA Conference, sponsored a Young Career Wo.man, and held a tea at Utah State University for senior girls of Logan and Sky View High Schools. We were pleased with the success of the aforementioned youth programs. Outstanding committees Civic Participation, World Affairs, Personal Development, Finance, Legislatbn, and Public Relations held their role of importance in this year's program. - - In our Civic Participatio meeting, the chairman used the IrC II of our oblectlve SICO (Cooperation) and hod the president of our Cache Chamber of Commerce speak on "How We as a Club Can Be of Service to the Chamber of Commercen and How Their Function Pertains to Us as a Club and as an Individual Business Woman". The presentation was well received. logan BPVV holds membership in the Cache Chamber of Commerce. In the second nieeti9 of our Civi Parti'cipation Committee, Captain E. M. Pitcher, of the State Highwah Patrol, spoke on law enforcement in relation to traffic safety. This meeting left us with a much greater appreciation for our law enforcement officers and our persona I ro Ie in the area of safety • BPW members had a rich experience going "Around the World n when our World Affairs Committee invited Dr. and Mrs. D. K. Salunkhe (onnerly of India and members of the U.S .U. faculty, to speak to us. At our Persona I Development meeting, Mrs. Edith Shaw, chainnan of the Govemor's Committee on the Status of Women, gave a most interesting report on the function of the committee in its entirety and the subject matter contolned in the publication, "Women of Utah". A second meeting followed wherein Dr. Nonna Compton, U.S.U. family Ufe Department, presented a program on the psychological effect of color: and fabric in clothing on the human behavior of the individual. "ivloney in Your Ufe by Rhea H. Gordner and the function of the Uttle Hoover Commission were very ably treated at our Finance and Legislative meetings. II Our Public Relations Committee did a commendable iob and received excellent support from the local press in publicizing BPW activities. ' Our initiation ceremony was conducted by Elva Pierson, state membership chairman. Itah Ahrens and DeLone Petersen will receive Gold membership cards for sponsoring five members each. We were successful in bringing 22 new members into our clb this past year. |
