The voting body elected Grace D. Dobbins, Director, and Geneva langlois, Vice Director, to serve the District for a second term Greta Bauer was appointed secretary-trecm,Jrer. Jean Fox, State President, insta lied the officers at an impressive candlelight ceremony. The year has been a ,pleasurable one. We became acquainted with the presidents of the six c lebs, and the association was more enjoyable because of the cooperation of the entire board. As the old year ends and a new one is soon upon us, the Director, Vice Director, and Secretary-Treasurer are looking forward to meeting the new presidents of the clubs in the District. We feel that with last year's experience we will be able to be a better board in promoting more interests in our District, understand the clubs' problems, and to strive for a closer re lationship within our District. Grace D. fox NORTHERN DISTRICT On Sunday I Apri I 24, 1961, at the Spring Conference of the Northern District' of the Utah Federation of Business and Professbnal Women's Clubs, I was installed as Director of the Northern District, with Venna Co in as Vice Director and Ann Johnson as Secretary-Treasurer. On June 12, a Board Meeting was held in Brigham City to plan for a District picnic. The picnic was held on August 18 ot the Brigham City Pioneer Park. The Board was gratified by the attendance and the good fellowship enjoyed by all who attended. A Board Meeting YJO'S held in September to plan for the Fa II Conference. The Con ference was held at the Chuck-A Rama in Ogden on October 21. The program was in charge of our State Officers. ... On iv\arch 25, a Board Meeting was held 'at my home to meke plans for our Spring Conference at wh ich we meet today in Brigham City .• During the past year I hove ettendcd, as an invited guest, the banquet of the Ogden Club held crthe Top of tile Town; as an, invited guest, the instaflati'on of the officers of the Bonneville Club. I affended the pre-o.rganization meeting of the new Cache Valley Club, with members of the Logan Club Our State President asked me to speak to the group. I regret that a confl icting engagement prevented me from attending the organization meeting of the Morgan Club. , I a Iso attended the banquet sponsored by the Ogden Club on October 17, in lebration of Natiom I Business Women's Week. . ce |
