Fern Nichols, personal development chahman, and her sister Josephine, were responsible for our September 22 program at Harman's. Our charming First Lady of Salt LDke City, Mrs. J. Bracken Lee, held us spellbound whUe she challenged us with the accomplish ments of the early women of Utah. On October 20, May Bruce, world affairs chairman, presented Naomi Woolley whose the "Stctus of the United States Action of subject Today". She spoke of foreign policy, bilateral and unilateral action, balance of power in Vietnam, and the U..N. 's relationship to the population explosion, race riots, need for food, medicine, and other aid including was birth-control pills. ".. . ' In November we substituted our civic participation program and attended the Utah Association for the U.N. fund-raising project "Is Paris' Burning" • In December we enjoyed a fellowship party at Ida Latham's lovely home. In January, Nellie Jack, our legislation chairman, introduced Ernest Dean, a member of the Utah legislature, vAlo challenged us with a talk on air pollution. At the Chuck O'Reme on February 23, Fern Nichols presented Hortense Hammond who carried us away into different realms of beauty through poetry. On March 23, iVloy Bruce was responsible for an interesting and informative program tr "Nored ot the Sa It Lake Public Library. Mr Sieberson of the Intermountat n Telephone Company presented the program. State officers, sister groups, and others were invited. on • Loretta Young, civic participation chairman, will present Orem Chief of Police Lunncn on krry Apri I 27 to ta Ik on law enforcement. Our May program is on consettion with Wanda Fox presiding. Election and installation of new officers will be in June We contributed $10.00 to the Heart Fund. , ZION E Iso F. Ruesch Our membership of 22 for this club year was made up of employed women in the 'Ovms of southecstern Wash ington County. Meetings were he Id twice month Iy between September 21, 1966, and May 311 1967. The first meeting of the month was programmed for transacting club business, and the second was devoted to program.
