Show October: legislation with Ruth Olsen chairman and j\kJry Smith co-chairman. November: Membership. David Duncan Weber County Treasurer, spoke on the proposed eight amendments and explained them in detait'. Ten new members were initiated into the Ogden Club by Member ship Chairman Afton Bolls and president Sylvia Wright. This was accomplished with a very impressive candlelight ceremony. December: A beautiful Christmas party was held December 12 at the Hotel Ben lomond Motor LOage. Pri,cilla Cragun was chairman, and the decorations were exquisite. There were over 100 members and guests present. Edna Lewis, chairman. Members of the committee pre entedthe program. Those participating were Alice Ralston, Elva Layman, Frances Cady, Louise Fisher, and Alice Shaw. This was an outstanding program. Three more new members were initiated at this time. January: Personal Development - Oborn, chairman, inlOduced County Sheriff, Februa lien, whoParticipation. presented his program for improving law and order. He stated that each Weber Beth Civic Wilson of us shou ld be conscious of our civic responsibi lity to our community and assist wherever possible. Dr. T. R. Reddy, Professor of Political Science at Weber State e, guest speaker. Dr Reddy is a native of India. He told of the relationship of his country to the rest of the world and of the economics of India. He was introduced by chairman Elyse Bushell. An interesting question and answer period followed the lecture. March: World Affairs. was , April: Nominations and election of new officers will be held April 8. We will have to report the results of this meeting at a" later date. At this time our Young Career Woman will giver her five-minute talk that she will present at the Northern District Conference on April 23 at Logan. We fee I that we have had a good year and accomplished much in the Ogden Club. We have more than equalized our membership and hope to secure several more new members before June 30. We have earned two Gold Cards for our Club. to the We purchased 10 tickets for "Peter Pan" at the Valley Music Hall and presented them Intermountain Indian School students. Fern Boyd was chairman of a recently held rummage sale.
