Show 30 students attend the London United Nations meeting. students to Logan to the Youth .iowe r Conference. We transported 16 high school In Decem ber, we had fun at our annua I Christmas party. We gave a book to the library, as we have done yearly for sometime. On Christmas Day we were saddened the death of one of our members, Miss Florence Roylance, who died from injuries by received in an automobile accident. - . With the new year, our persona I improvement programs were of interest. Hansen of Bountiful taught us some new exercises at our January meeting. February, the Civic Participation committee brought us information Gunn Mckay, Utah State Legislator, spoke to us. on Claire the Little Hoover Committee. With the World Affairs committee in March, we toured the Orient. Athleen Our Fishburn, manager of a trove! agency here, gave us a very entertaining evening. on our various pro jects. spring fashion show was lovely,and the proceeds wi II be spent The April meet inq brought us more on personal development, election of officers, and voti ng on three new members. We always look forward to the next three meetings, Mother's Day party, initiation, and summer picnic. We hope to have a good representation at our State Convention. Although we have not reached the goal set for us by State, we have had a busy and friendsh ips of the members. Our fa II meeting was a good demonstration using new recipes and clever decoration ideas. II A festive Christmas social held early in December was a fitting start to the musical holiday season. Gay table decorations set the atmosphere. A truly beautiful Junior Orem from of seventh well-trained High was presented by a graders group evening School. One of the club's projects this year was to collect clothing, costume jewelry, and handicraft materials to be given to Utah State Training School at American Fork. This project wcs the result of an inspiring talk given by a new staff consultant at the schoo I, who described work be ing done there and the numerous needs. The response to th is request was exce lIent, and the school's staff was very appreciative. Another club held the day before Mother's was to furnish refreshments for the Foster Parents Day project Day. |
