Show 13 . Beginning in January, tau have received, in four installments, the entire booklet: Foundation facts; Purpose, Program, Prospects. Th is was done in order that you might have all the focts, iust as they are stated, by those who were active in bringing into being the 'toundot ion. The National Business Woman has also carried in each issue pertinent information designed to arouse your curiosity and enthusiasm from the Specia I Chairman for Foundation Promotion, Dorothy Wooda II. I sincerely hope that you have used well the information that has been made available interest of the Foundation; and that you will become an ardent supporter of this facet of National Federation activity. Someday, you, especially the younger women, may have an occasion to use the Foundation library, recieve a Fellow ship or an Award for meritorious service or to further your own career in business or the to YOu; that you have enioyed the added professions. . NIKE-SAMOTHRACE CLUBS Jewe I Bindrup The chairman has checked the possibi lities of such an organization with the State Careers Specia list, who fee Is that it might provide some exce lIent opportunities for students to have experience in looking at a variety of careers rather than confining such a club to special interests. Suggestions for clearing with the schools end a summary of purposes for this organization were included in a report to the Winter Board Meeting. NOMINATING COMMITTEE Anna E. Erickson This year an effort has been made to upgrade the function of the State Nominating Committee. Whether or not we hove been successful will not be known until the completion of our assignment at State Convention. An attempt has been made to have the futJ committee (club representatives and their Iternates) identified prior to the meeting of the Comm ittee on May 5, 1967; as of April 1 we have been only partially successful in this area. Clubs have been given advance to place highly qualified women on this Committee. Through the medium of opportunity at the Fall and Winter Board Meetings, as well as a report published in the Fall issue reports of The Utah Business Woman, we have endeavored to stress the responsibi lities of this Committee to accept and process candidate data received from clubs endorsing a candidate for office and to present to the convention body a ticket with two or more qualified candi dates for each office if possible. a - We have tried to emphasize the importance of choosing a candidate with care; that she must know and understand the .duties of the office for which she is nominated; that she must have the abi lity and time to perform these duties and be free to attend and participate in State Board Meetings, District Conferences, and any other meetings co lied by the State President. We have also stressed the importance of good hea Ith in a candidate, for the demands of a state office ate great. We have, to the best of our ability, devised a Candidate Data and Nomination Form that co lis for the a II accomplishments and qua lifications of the candidate I documentation of |
