Show 9 important national issues, economic and social problems, and legislative proposals; and specialists on the subjects were there to give the answers. We were strongly urged to become more active in politics and were shown how legislative matters are basica.lly important to a II of us. Through my affi liation with BPW I represented the Chamber of Commerce at the Utah State Conference on Community Development and Planning on March 10 at the University of Utah. We were shown how and why planning is the key to develop ment. By proper planning we can make the most of ourselves, our fellow men, our opportun ities, and our commun ities. I was very impressed with both of these programs and have deve loped a greater understanding of our American Heritage and our country's concern of community problems. pass on to I feel that I have acquired an abundance of va luable information that I can the Federation. I want to express my appreciation to all club members for the fine way in which the membership dues have been sent in to me. I hope they wi II continue to give of their talents to the Federation. Working and associating with the State Board has been a wonderful experience. For all this, my sincere thanks. Elva Pierson CORRESPONDING SECRETARY This year of 1965-66 has been a very rewarding year as corresponding secretary of the Utah Federation. The State officers have done outstanding work for the Utah Federation this past year. Two new clubs have been organized. Zion Club is well on its way to success. Bonnevi lie Club wi II soon receive its charter, and we wish them success. Youthpower Conferences have been very successful in the Districts. Congratula tions to the District Directors, club presidents, and chairmen of these conferences. When we serve and bui Id our youth, we are helping to bui ld our Federation and our United States of America. Through these conferences, our Federation is becoming well known in our communities, businesses, and schools. To all who helped with these Youthpower Conferences, thanks for time well spent.
