Show 32 On the occasion of our ceJebrating Nationol Business Women's Week, invitations were extended to members of other women's clubs and organizations in logan and to the BPW presidents in the Northern District to partie ipate with us. We had good response, and the presidents of such clubs and organizations were honored at this time and presented with roses. A special tribute was paid to each (Soroptomist, Federated Women, AAUW, and BPW). The wife of the president of U.S.U. and the wif of our Logan City Mayor were also special guests. Mrs Co Ivi n Rampton was the guest speaker on th is occasion. .. BP\I\I members responded to the call of the Cache County Chapter American Red Cross Christmas packages for the boyse in Viet Nam. We also gave support to donating fumishings for the establishment of an intemational house for foreign students. to help in their drive for articles to be placed in Other favorite programs in keeping with the seasons of the year were the Christmas and Spring Fun Night. Our music and friendship committees added support by means party 'of that persona I touch. We were represented on the Logan Legislative CouncH, Cae'he Training Center, Friends of the library, U.S.U. Family Ufe Forum 'planning committee, and U.S.U. Founders Day activities. ' The Logon Club will give their wholehearted support to De Lone Petersen as a candidate for State First Vice President in 1967-68. The installation of new officers in JVoy will culmlnote what every club is trying to carry out successfully and tothe best of our ability the programs developed by the Executive Committee at the beginning of the club year. , to accomplish - On lVlarch 22 BPW members and a score of friends ere saddened by the unexpected and sudden passing of Phyllis Baugh. Phyllis had been a member of the logan BPW Club since 1927 and enriched the lives of all with whom she came in contact. MIDVALE Virginia Haun The opening meeting of the year 1966-67 was held at the South Seas Cafe program committee in charge. "BPW in Action" was the theme of state president Anne Kidd, guest - speaker. Our October meeting was "Keep Young and Trim to Enioy life. Bert Davis, director of public relations forthe Spa Health and Beauty Resort, was guest speaker. Finance committee was in charge. Mrs. Esther Lando spoke on 'Women's Role in the Space Age" in November when the World Affairs Committee was in charge. Our December Christmast party was held at the home of one of our members, Alice Goodridge, with the fellowship and hospita lity If comm ittees in charge. Our January meeting was under the direction of tho Legislation Committee with Bessie Anderson as guest speaker. The February meeting was under the direction of the Personal Development Committee, and Mrs. f\IOriorie lofgren, Director of Volunteer Service at the Cottonwood Hospita I was guest speaker. The Civic Participation Committee was in charge of the AAorch meeting when Captain Ferris D. Andrus spoke. The April meeting was a fund-raising dinner at th: home f Juanita and the installatIon of Buckley. The Membership Committee will be in charge in l\llt:Jy, officers wi II take place in June. |
