In March, Garth Wilkes, iVorgan high school teacher in the Social Studies, "World Food Supplies and the Possibi lity of Fcmine ", Mae Butters, choir spoke rrtln of the World Affairs Committee was in charge of this program. on For our Civic Project we have been working with the Morgan Lion's Club as "Welcome Wagon" to welcome new families to our county. So far, we have visited 55 homes and expect to continue this project and visit the rest of the new fami lies. a Our Membership Committee, under the direction of ltINez Carrigan, has been busy, too. There are 7 or G ladies interested in the BPW Club and are planning to [oin at the beginning of the new year. we Now that we have our feet on the ground and understand the program better, plan to do bigger and better th ings in the coming year. iv\o ry B lunde II MURRAY We have been a very busy club this past year. Beginning in October, we he ld regu lor socia I and business meetings; the chairmcnshlps of those meetings hove already been reported. An added responsibi lity this past year was the State fv\orch of Dimes project The Murray Club cooperated wholeheartedly and was involved in every phase of the operation. , Again the Murray BPW Club chose a worthy Christmas project the donation of fifty dollars to the West Jordan Day Care Center, a school for the mentally handicapped ch i ldren .,. • Another dollars was given in the form of a scholarship to a qualified Schoo Murray High graduate to be used to advance a business career. fift, The Rose Garden in JV\unay City Pork is of prime concern to Murray BPW members, and $100 was donated to Murrqy City for rose replacements and new roses for the go rde n • Our Christmas party (he Id in January because of the storm in December) wos smash ing success.
