The continuation of the program will, of course, be up to your new administration. However, I know two districts have bank accounts; so what's going to happen to all that money if they don't continue?: We are most grateful' to the Sears-Roebuck Foundation for their support again this year. From their three-hundred-clollar grantl we were oble to assist the three conferences held ot educational institutions (College of Southern Utah, University of Utah, and Weber State College) with .100 each. In addition, the State Federation was in a position this year to contribute $50 to each district sponsoring a Youthpower Conference We also received assistance and encouragement from the Youthpower-USA Foundation of which Dorothy Ford is president. .. 4t . The Young Career Woman Program you wi) I heor a great dec I about at the convention 4 It looks like every district will have 0 candidate; and from this group of seven, our representative to No tiona I wi II be chosen. There hove been other noteworthy experiences, but these are the ones that stand out in my mind as I try to report to you the accomplishments of the year. The visits to various clubs, representing the Federation on other occasions, and the routine contacts and togetherness experienced on many occasions have all been memorable and of lasting importance to me. I would be remiss, indeed; if I did not express my deepest opprec'iation once again to the officers who have served with me, the other members of the State Board, my parliamentarian Cynthia Curtis--always at my elbow to keep me on the right track, the convention hostess clubs, and my very own Sugor House Cf.ub. At this writing, a II the sides of that duodecohedron r mentioned earlier have something written on them+-some in biSI bold letters+-some in finer print. We have attempted to keep ever before us the objectives for which our great organization was established and which hove been the foundation of our programing this year. As we launch our convent lon+-the most significant ach ievement of the year--We trust that a II of our business and activities wi II be maintained on the highest p.lane possible in keeping with our often quoted, often-repeated, ... but sometimes-abused Collect. |
