Show 39 This year our club has hod a representative attend all Roosevelt Chamber of Commerce The purpose is to keep our members fully informed of all community happenings which enables us to coordinate and support all community services. meetings. Through the combined efforts and hard work of all the members in our club, we were able to qualify as a Criteria Club. Courses were conducted on parliamentary procedure. We had a nice group attend these classes, and all felt well paid for their efforts. Our project of making and selling homemade chocolates at Christmas to help finance our new hospital was very successful. We sold 181 one-pound boxes. We participated in the community Christmas week by iudging the homes for the best decorated. We also held our traditional holiday party and exchanged gifts. At our November and January meetings, new members were installed. We have had thirteen new members ioin this year. Our hat is off to our hard-working membership chcirmon , In April, iointly with the Vernal Club, we sponsored a Youthpower-USA Conference. school students from Duchesne, Uintah Counties were High represented. Panel speakers were businessmen and women from the two counties, Jed by a representative from the State Board of Education. This meeting was held at the Roosevelt Jr. High School. Our club has ci sma II student loan fund to be used in helping someone further her educa tion. We have made one loon to a worthy girl during the year. During the last week in May we wi II honor the senior girls of Union High School at a tea. This is a traditional event with our club and is very much looked forward to and enjoyed by members, students, and their mothers and community leaders.
