Show The portable resuscitator I purchased by the Club and given to the North Summit Swimming fool in memory of the son of one of our members who was drowned, was officially prssented at the Homecoming Assembly on October 14. The Personal Development Committee presented a most enioyable program at our October meeting. Guest speakers at our November meeting were three club memben who received "Iop I. Hat aWards for their service in the community. This interesting program was under the direction of the Civic Participation Committee. Our Christmas party, held the first week in December at the lVtountain N\eadow Ranch, successful. A delicious dinner, fun games, and gift were the exchange was very members present.. enjoyed by . Club members invited their husbands to the January meeting held at the C'Est Bon Hotel at Park City under the direction of the World Affairs Committee. Clinton DiIree showed slides and talked about the countries he had 'isited, and a delicious smorgasbord was enjoyed by members and guests. State Representative Glen Thurston gave a most interesting ta Ik on legislation at our February meeting, and our Spring, Fashion Show was held on February 25. The show was a huge success with three hundred in attendance. Our March meeting was well planned by ,the ..Hea1tfwlnd Safety Committee A course County Sheriff's Department with the assistance of the Highway Patrol. Our District Director, Mabel O'Brien, of the Bountiful .. in highway safety was given under the direction of the Summit Club and vice director Grace Dcbbins were our guests for the evening. Club officers prepared 0 de lie ious luncheon that was served to 37 members and guests. State officers wi II be our guests at the Apri I meeting which wi II be he ld at the of the Pioneers Building. This is our lOOOk night, and we hope to have every member: in a Henda nee Daughters • . Our financ ia I pro [ects for the year have been: soliciting ads for the Summit County Fair Book; sponsoring a community calendar in with the American birthday conjunction Legion Auxiliary; and presenting a spring fashion show. We also received first place award on the beautiful float made under the direction of De 110 Sundberg and Mae Ivtoore and entered in the Summit County Fair Parade. Because of the hard work of all our members, for i'he club; award a BPW to a have been able to buy a Polaroid scholarship winning contestant at the Fc:tir Queen Contest; make a donation toward the carpeting for the Daughters of Pioneers Sui Iding; sponsor a girl at Girls' State; give financial aid to the Utah Travel Council to help publicize Summit County; a generous donation to the Utah Heart Association; present our annual open house for the girl graduates of North Summit High School; and make a donation to the State Rheumatic Fever Project fund which wi II be voted on at the Apri I meeting. camera we Club members have also assisted in other various civic projects, including the March drive, the Red Cross fund drive, etc;. of Dimes polio fund |
