During the third week in May we will honor the senior girls of Union High School This is a traditional event with our club and is very much looked forward to and by members, s1udents and their mothers,and community leaders. It is also enjoyed tradition to sponsor a girl to Girls' State. at a tea. Every member has participated in the club program th is year as an elected officer, Each one deserves praise an appointed chairman, or member of a working committee. and thanks for the manner in which she has assumed the responsibility of her position. Helen Dahle SALT LAKE CITY The Salt Lake Club is proud of two of its members serving as State Officers: Fox as Second Vice President and Emma Beck as State Public Relations Chairman. Jean The Salt Lake Club began its year in September with a report from the president who attended the National and rlnternational Conventions in Washington, D. C. Members also heard a recording of "The Sky's the limit" by Dr. John Furbay who was one of the speakers at International. The Girl Stater also gave a report of her activities at Girls' State. In October the Persona I Development Comm ittee presented the program. speaker was Edith Harrop, Supervisor of Stewardesses of Western Airlines. Guest In November the members of the Finance Committee presented a skit on finance and conducted a bazaar. A Christmas program was en joyed in December with the Fellowship Committee in charge. Christmas baskets were delivered to shut-ins and $25.00 was donated to the Mental Health by the Program. In January the chairman of the Little Hoover Commission was the speaker conducted Legislative Comm ittee. In February the Specia I Pro jects Comm ittee presented the program. Speaker was Mr. Clair Coleman, General Manager of Distributions Operations at Mountain Fuel Supply Company. His subject was "Youth--The Nation's Most Valuable Resource." Each month the cub has as its dinner guest a girl from Junior Achievement. She is chosen by interview and questionnaire. The club also gives a scholarship each year to the Jun ior Ach ievement • November's Junio r Achiever was Miss Gloria Lynne Medici, Vice President of Mapco, a firm manufacturing cork coasters. She is a junior at Murray High School. a .Jcnucry 's Junior Ach iever was Miss Thera Peterson, Senior at Granite High School and was Achiever Junior Bank.
