Show 18 Our most able officers of the State gave us such inspiration at our Fa I J Conference with the North Centra I District that it carried over through the year to the present. The standards for a fine "Pion for Progress wi II be very evident as we enjoy the many activit s planned for us by the Sugar House and So It Lake League Cubs at our State Convention II in iv\ay. The standards we emulate by putting into action our "Plan for Progress wi II assist our fellow women to develop their own potentiality and high standards. Through this, the daily parts of our aspect for living, wi II inspire others to do the some. We must reach for our opportunities and develop our many unborn talents for the betterment of ourselves and man kind. We must first look to ourse Ives to find that which we can begin to improve. Then, while we are doing this, we must seek ways to help others to do the some. II We should show faith in our own ability to make the most we can out of our own opportunities. let us seek for both internal and external growth. EASTERN DISTRICT Ruth Allen The BPW Clubs of Rooseve It and Verna I, comprising the Eastern District I have had a good year. Under the direction of Erman Stewart, Roosevelt, and Kay Gotfredson, Vernal, each club has been active in fulfilling programs for the "Criteria Clubs" award. Each club has sponsored a "Career Girl ", and the "membership" competition has been so high it is not known at this time which club will be awarded the "Crying Towel". A tie is foreseen. The Fall District Conference was held in Roosevelt during Business Womens Week, Roosevelt's iv\ayor Rolph Shields, speaker, highly complimented the BPVV Clubs on their interest and activities in community work. Five state officers attended and left messages of unity and enthusiasm. at which time Through the cooperation of both clubs, a successful YouthpowerConference was held April 1, 1967, at the Roosevelt Jr. High School under the general chairmaoship of Ruth Ann Green of the Rooseve It Club. Four outstanding speakers were featured, en d buzz sessions were participated in by students from Uintah, Union, and Duchesne High Schools. We are sure the ideas presented will be long remembered by the participants. State officers present were Anne Kidd, Jean Fox, DeLone Peterson, and Josephine Yergensen. Verna I wi II be hostess Apri I 29, 1967, to the Spring Ditrict Confrece. t this time a Career Girl will be' chosen to compete at State Convention, and distract officers will be elected.
