Erni Iy H6fhine, Centra I District Director, wi II be We have had a very interesting and rewarding year. lindo Shimmin VERNAL Our club goals for the year 1967-68 were: To strive for Unity, Community Service , Cultural Enlightenment, Scholastic Achievement, and Spiritual Growth. In September, we, as members; worked towards a Criteria Club. The club completed this goal May 1, 1968. Starting in September our month Iy business meeting consisted of lessons taken from the book, "Great Ideas II. The lessons contributed to the club's scholastic achievement. Starting in September the monthly socials were geared to the club's cultural enlightenment. We, as members, en joyed artistic, musica I, dramatic, and cu Itura Is from other parts of the world. In the month of January 1968, the club donated money to the Uintah County Hospital oxygen fund and also money to the Vernal Chamber of Commerce to help with the payment of Christmas decorations. The Vernal Club has installed five new members during the 1967-68 club year. At the October district conference we received a trophy for the most new members. In March 1968, the club sponsored an outstanding high school student for Girls State. Starting April 3, 1968, the club sponsored a class on Parliamentary Procedures taught by Mrs. Lon Logan. . In May 1968, we choose an outstanding high school girl who has achieved in I persona deve lopment in her high school years. In May 1968, the club members enoyed a tour of the Vernal oil fields under the direction of an oi I engineer, Mr. Dee Adams. The monthly socia I in May was the insta IIction of new officers .for 196-69. They follows: Mrs. Linda Shimmin, President; Mrs. Amy lube, 1st V'oce PreSident; Mrs. lone Wi lIiams, 2nd Vice President; Mrs. Marion Behunin, Recording Secretcryj Mrs. Rhoda DaVed, Corresponding Secretary; Mrs. Donna Lee, Treasurer.
