Description UTAH PRESS ASSOCIATION they had paid in during that time. This, I believe, is unique in all printer's associations." Porte Publishing Company continued its close affiliation with Utah Press Association for many years and Jeff Ward, its principal officer for more than three decades, was named an Honorary Publisher in 1971. Although Utah Press Association has always extended a warm welcome to associate members, if any doubt existed about the value of such people, the work of John Jones and Roy Porte should be evidence beyond dispute. While it's probable time would've healed the wounds of 1912 and the association would have resumed its role, it seems unlikely that would have happened nearly as soon without these two associate members whose only reason for involvement was a desire to see the organization regain its stature and involve itself in the lives of Utah's journalists. 298
