COLORFUL PUBLISHERS -- THEN AND NOW and Katie Thomas of the Garfteld County News. And in addition to the publishers, other men and women have prominently figured in Utah journalism. Editors of some less-than-daily publications who played a key role in the success of the papers they directed would include Bruce Keyes, Box Elder News-Journal; Alex Benne, Price Sun-Advocate; Don Robinson, Murray Eagle; Nancy Williams, Cache Citizen; Hal Edwards, Richfteld Reaper; Mary B. Bowring of the Kaysville Reflex, who later was a talented columnist for the Deseret News; Marc Haddock of the American Fork Citizen, Lehi Free Press and Pleasant Grove Review; David Bern of the Tooele Transcript-Bulletin and Sena Taylor Flanders, Park Record. Outstanding women in the field are numerous. Many are recognized elsewhere in this publication, but others, some of whom were wives of publishers and whose contributions to the state's newspaper annals are substantial, would include: Elizabeth Markus, wife of Richfteld Reaper publisher Dr. C. Max Markus; Marjorie (Midge) Memmott, whose husband was Uintah Basin Standard publisher Clifton N. Memmott; Armada Cox, wife of Ephraim Enterprise publisher Roscoe; Enid M.
