RSL is Rio Tinto's strongest alliance at the Rio Tinto Stadium, which by extension associates Rio Tinto with all of RSL's community efforts. They can join a program sponsored by American Express called "Heroes Among Us," which like the Harry Potter Alliance, turns fans into heroes by honoring "everyday people who have made a positive impact to improve the lives of others" before the kickoff of each home game (Real Salt Lake, 2015). Fans can join MLS WORKS which emphasizes "health and wellness, education, respect, fair play, leadership, human rights and diversity" (Real Salt Lake, 2015) through programs for school children. Fans can also support the RSL Youth Development System that gets children involved in local soccer programs, or fans can request a donation from RSL for a local organization in need of support. Although Rio Tinto is not directly involved in these particular community efforts, it is still part of RSL's outreach network, which makes this corporate citizensubject part of these discourses that articulates fans as civically engaged.
