Por eso la mayor parte de los vasos encontrados en los sepulcros tieneu l:t imagen del dios Tlaloc, siempre pintada de azul, que es cl color del agua en los geroglfficos. Elrostro de 'J'laloc era convencional; se componia de una. cspecie de mascara formada de una como oulebra azul, simbolo de las nubes, de la cual salen unos agudos dientes que expresan la llnvia y los rayos. Asf ambos dioses, el que produce las Jluvias del cielo y Ja que rlirige las aguas de Ia tierra, se bci·manan para hacer productiva Ja madre tierra. Es esa. pintnra geroglffica como un bimno de gratitud que elevan al cielo los campos y las sementeras. I gual significado tiene la Uiminaiii; en la parte superior, figura 5, se ve a Tlal'Oc sobre un alta,r, empuiiando en ambas rnanos cafias con mazorcas, y a su Jado en un tec6mJitl el mafz ya d sgramtdo. En la parte inferior, figura 7, esta Olwlchiulttlicue con las ()afias en las manos, y rnazorcas de rnafz por adorno {t su espalda. En la lamina XV :sc contempla :1 Tlaloc en su t emplo ornado de almenas; esta el dios untallo con el 1tlli sagraclo; tiene un tocado de riqufsimas plumas blancas y verdes, y su cabello cae a sn espaldn.; vi ste lnjosisimo httipilli aznl sembmdo de flores, y ca.lza C(tctli con lazos azules tambicn; en el brazo izqnicrdo tiene tm rico chimalli a.zul con finfsimas plumas, y en Ja diestra empufia un rayo. Adorna sn cnello gargantilla. de piedras verdes chalchilmitl, su brazo pulseras de las mismas piedras, y sus piernas abrazaderas .de oro. Es el clios en toda su mnjestad. Tiene un tocado de plumas y ftut0s, Ja mascara sagrada; por adomo en el pccbo una luna en un espacio azul; en Ia. mano izquierda el chimalli con el estan<larte, y en Ia diestra el a,rma en forma de culebra azul, el xiuhcocttl. La l{tmina V representa dos fiestas que bacen comprender mejor el ca.d eter 'de dios de la vida y de la muerte qnc tenia Tezcatli]Joca. En la figum 8, sc ve al clios con su acostnrnbraclo t raJe, su escudo do tezcatl y su cstanda.rte; pero tieue ~tclem{Ls una gran sarta de fiores que lo rodea.
