En este ano pusieron un gran sitio de guerra a los mexicanos, los colhuas, los tepanecas y los xochimilcas, a la vez que estaba gobernando en Culhuacan el senor Chalchiuhtlat6nac, y en XaltOcan Iztactecuhtli. Contribuyeron tambien a esta guerra los de Coyohuican; y fue cuando el senor de Cuauhtitlan se neg6 a tomar parte contra los mexicanos, no obstante Ja solicitud que le hizo Quinantzin. Los mexicanos que por tres y mas veces habfan experimentado la leal tad y buena fe de los chicbimecas, celebraron de nuevo mas estrechas alianzas, no s6lo con los de Cuauhtitlan, sino con los de T6llan, Atlitlalaquian, Tequixquiac, Apazco, Citlaltepec, Tzompanco, etc., viviendo casi con ellos los mcxicanos, pues para todo se"juntaban. Mas luego que supo todo esto el senor Quinantzin, y que los mexioanos se hablan destraido y reparticlo entre todos aquellos pueblos, mand6 al sefior de Xalt6can de que vigilase con todos Rus subditos, y cuidasen de coger como cautivos a todos los cxtranjeros que anduviesen por sus territorios, y amarrarlos, como lo llizo el mismo Quinantzin con los mexicauos en Chapoltepec, donde fue el sitio de guerra, atando a una doncella lla- 145 mada Chimalax6chit l, llija del seilor de los mexicanos llamado Huitzilihuftzin. 1 Este prfncipc tuvo Ia desgracia de caer cautivo en manos de los colhuas. Se dice por unos, que este fue hijo de Tlahuizpotoncitzin natural y sefior de Xalt6can; y por otros sc asegura que desccndfa de la sangre de Tzompanco, pues fue hijo del sefior de alii, llamaclo Nezahualtemoc{ ttzin. Cuando se dcstmyeron los mexicanos, y estando el ejercito de Quinantzin en la ciudad de Tecllichco, reparti6 6rdenes Quinantzin para que fuesen amarrados los prisioneros, y fuesen perseguidos los demas. De la intervencion de este rey acolhua, existe constaucia en un geroglffico autentico que Mr. Aubin llama Mapa Tl6tzin, y que consi.gn.a su~ victorias: en el se ve el gerogUfico de los mexicanos y al rey Hmtztllhmtl. De esta leyenda y relacion se desprenden consideraciones importantes sobre el estado de los azteca 6 mexica.
