Description |
Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

He has also observed rapid Hses in the river in the spring , of the year , due to ( melting nielting ) snow . During one year in 1884 it rose ( higlier't higliert ) 11 , ai was ever known to before or since . ( He lie ) was ' thuP at the time but ims only a small boy and ( doos does ) * ( D'A DA ) exactly ( remember remembei ) it . ( R . 3030 . ) He has subsequently seen the ( marks niarks ) on the banks where it came in ( 1884 1-884 ) ; the ( government goverillilcllt ) surveyors had talcen their point from that . There was a treQ in the orchard that had a fork just above where the water line ( came canie ) ( 011 on ) that tree .
