Description |
Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

( HOC noo ) Copper ( Oanyon Canyon ) and the ( Navajo Ncavajo ) ( Mountains MoulitItins ) where the copper occurs ( in iii ) sandstone ( conglomerate conglonierate ) , and carries silver values . Native silver has been found in the Copper ( Cau- Cau ) ( yon yoii ) country . He knows of two or three ( small sinall ) veins of coal in San Juan County , of a ( vein -vein vein ) of coal west of Monticello that ( he lie ) opened up that was six feet thick , of coal on Squaw Creek ( in iii ) the ( south south- south ) western part of the county that ( faces ftices ) up about ten feet and other ( smaller sinaller ) veins of coal two to , three feet thick . They are ( working rorking ) a ( small sinall ) vein of coal ( east cast ) ( of of' of ) Monticello , in which they have about four feet ( of oX ) coal . He ( doesn't doesnt ) know of any work that has been done . looking toward the location of these coal veins at other points in the county .
