Description |
Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

( 3175-3176 3175-33176 ) . ) AVeiit out by team to ( Richfield Riclifield ) , Utah ; over poor road iip Hanson Creek , ( then theil ) to Salt Lake City . . Came back in fifteen days , took his supplies to ( Cali- Cali ) fornia bar - that is just across the river from ( Han- Han ) son Creek . ( R . 3177 . ) Forded river with the ivagon ; ; this was latter part of November or first of Deceinber , 1898 ; not ( necessary necessaTy ) then to swim horses ; river shallow at that point .
