Description |
Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

Does not know of any power boats on the river now . ( R . 3418 . ) ( Cross-examination Crossexamination ) ( R . Vol . 18 , pp . 3419-3444 ) : A boat of a draft of 18 ( inches hiches ) would have to have two feet or more of water to run ; where the river splits up into two or more channels , real low water you would not ( find fiiid ) it . ( R . 3422 . ) If it was all in one channel you would get that ( much inuch ) water . R . 3424 . ) Three years ago , only occasion when there Was not a channel in the Green river that would take a boat having a draft of one foot of water .
