Description Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929.

The Trap ford is a place they used to ford the river ; they called it the Trap ford , , after the man that used to live there , and this ford was very rough and rocky . There were large rocks in Ok bottom all the way . across , and those rocks are all gone ; the riffle is way down below , probably two hundred yards ( be- be ) low where we used to cross vith teams . . He does not know how deep the water is at the original old ford . . There is a complete change there that I know of . . ( R . . 3259-3260 . ) Another place he knows of where the river changed recently a year ago ( when ivhen ) it took out four . acres of land and the whole river moved almost six hundred feet westerly , and also at Salaratus wash that ( when -when when ) he first went there in 19,05 was a small wash probably fifty or sixty feet wide and at ( -the the ) present time it must be two hundred yards wide . During the time he has been at Greenriver he does not know of any merchandise of any kind ever ( hav- hav ) ing been shipped in to ( Greeariver Greenriver ) on the Green R 3260-3261 ) River . .
