Description |
Testimony given before special master Charles Warren in a suit brought by the United States against the state of Utah over ownership of the bed of the Colorado River. Much of the testimony was given by river runners, scientists and engineers, petroleum geologists, and placer miners. The testimony constitutes an extensive oral history of the men and women who utilized the Colorado River Basin in Utah prior to 1929. |

( 7' " ) ( R . 4813 . ) He ( doesn't doesnt ) . believe it would run anywhere near ( twenty-five twentyfive ) times as he never got in the water very often to help the boat off . ( "If If ) you notice in the pictures , you will notice me sitting back in the engine and letting the other fellow do that . " ( R . 4814 . ) There were not very many times that some member of the party would get out to help the boat off as he usually had a pole or something to push it back and he ( couldn't couldnt ) give an estimate as to how many times , but he believes it did occur .
